What is media literacy?
Media literacy is the ability to recognize different types of multimedia and understand the messages they send. This can be The ability for a a student to evaluate the different media used by a professor (such as videos, PowerPoint, etc.) to convey and the information being presented is an example of media literacy

Why is it important?
Media literacy is important because it allows it gives us the opportunity to evaluate information being presented and think critically. It also allows for us to dig deeper into topics and grasp a better understanding of what is being presented in the media,

Why is it dismissed?
As important as it is, media literacy can cause cognitive overload. Having to worry about evaluating information presented while also trying to learn what is being presented can be too many tasks at once for the brain.

Why should you aim for varied views but the factual consensus in your PLN?
Varied views in our PLN provide us with different opinions and an opportunity to learn something in different ways.. An important aspect of including varied views in one’s PLN is that we must make sure that everything is factual and legitimate. Social media allows for everyone to post online and therefore it allows for people with little to no experience in a particular subject to provide input. This input can be wrong and can be read by others. People reading this ill be misinformed and will carry false ideas regarding the subject.
