What are the benefits of a diverse and inclusive PLN in social media sharing that understands where you are coming from with messaging that impacts the community?

Diverse and inclusive PLN’s can come with numerous benefits. One of which is it allows more people to find and contact like-minded people. Inclusion and diversity allow us to incorporate different perspectives and opinions. A good example of this is international conferences that look to address a certain issue in the world. They invite individuals in the same industry from different backgrounds and ethnicities. That way they have input and perspectives to the problem from different experiences and the problem is more likely to be solved with everyone providing ideas based on their experience and background. Diversity and inclusion in your PLN is also very important to your audience.  When one reads the comments to what you share or they sense inclusion and diversity in your PLN, it’s likely that they will also share their opinion. It is also likely that they will grow fonder of you as a person due to the different opinions you attract .

Guest Markiel Simpson, who was vying for the federal NDP nomination in the riding of Burnaby North-Seymour, is a young activist looking to end systematic racism, especially because it affects the BC black community. He decided to use his experience, being a black man with a disability, to share his perspective and ideologies on important issues. Through years of sharing his perspectives and ideologies on important matters around the world on twitter, Markiel managed to gain a huge audience that began to follow him. Through time, his followers continued to increase and were mainly of the younger generation. Once he then decided to advance his career for the federal NDP nomination, he had already established a massive network who interacted with him and the opinions he posts online.He leveraged this network into his campaign by making it clear that the ideologies they shared is what he will be focusing on.
